Week 7 – Assignment: Perform and Reflect on a Biopsychosocial Interview Instruct

Week 7 – Assignment: Perform and Reflect on a Biopsychosocial Interview Instructions In the following assignment you will actually carry out an interview, evaluate your own skills, and reflect on this process. Then, you will carry out and reflect on your own biopsychosocial interview with a client. Use the interview format in Perkinson (2012) to conduct a mock interview with a volunteer interviewee. (Assure the interviewee that (s)he does not have to discuss potentially upsetting issues, (s)he can terminate the interview at any time, and that you will keep all information strictly confidential. Do not reveal the name of the interviewee when you prepare your assignment). Prepare a short paper in which you discuss the interview experience. Include reference to the following in your discussion: Were you able to cover all the necessary issues? How would you describe the flow of the interview? How effective do you feel this format would be in a clinical setting? What have you learned about yourself as an interviewer? What skills would you like to develop further? How has your experience as an interviewer changed your conceptual understanding of the interview process? You do not need to refer to any readings, other than the required text readings, in your discussion. Length: 3-5 pages Your assignment should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.
